方苞“绝意不为诗”之辩及其诗论

方苞以古文名扬天下,世人皆言其不作诗,他自己亦多次提及自儿时即"绝意不为诗"。方苞"绝意不为诗"的根本原因是其父力戒方苞为诗。另外,相较于文而言,方苞诗才确实有限,诗作受到友人批评,他自己也意识到诗歌之难为。但事实上,方苞并非真的与诗歌绝缘,他时常写诗,只是少有留存而已,其从弟方世举的诗集中曾提及方苞作诗,足以明证。他有大量诗序,可见其诗歌观念。
