冲击与调适：义和团运动前后的英国浸礼会在山东传教事业

浸礼会传教士在义和团运动中受到保护，但教产与教徒均遭受重创。义和团运动后，浸礼会在相对稳定的传教环境下，转变传教策略，逐渐扩大传教区域；开办的新式教育日趋得到民众认同，开始走向正规化与高等化，开始将医疗工作作为传教重要手段，专门派遣医学传教士，建设正规化的医院，开展医学教育以培养中国医生与护士，实现从救灵到疗身的转变，医院世俗化趋势加强。浸礼会传教士在华推行普世之爱的医疗、教育等社会事业，虽然带有传播宗教的功利动机，但却给中国带来了合乎时代进步要求的现代文明。
