杜甫、严武“睚眦”再考辨——与傅璇琮、吴在庆先生商榷

杜甫、严武之间是否有过一次严重的酒后冲突,历来有两种针锋相对的意见。双方争论的焦点是:当杜甫对自己有失敬言行时,严武的态度,在表露愤怒和不以为忤两者中,哪一种可能性更大一些。通过文献记载、严武的性格、杜甫若干诗歌的迹象三个方面的讨论,应该认为:杜甫、严武之间有过一次严重酒后冲突事件的可能性是很大的。

Textual Re-examination of a "Grievance" between DU Fu and YAN Wu--To Discuss with FU Xuan-cong and WU Zai-qing

Scholars on DU Fu have been holding two opposing opinions on whether DU Fu and YAN Wu ever came into conflict after they had got drunk.Their disagreement centers upon this point:In reaction to DU Fu's rudeness,was YAN Wu more likely to get badly offended or to care nothing at all? After a detailed analysis of available literature,YAN Wu's personalities and temperaments,and several relevant poems by DU Fu,I argue that it is highly likely that a serious conflict occurred between DU Fu and YANG Wu.The present essay is meant as a response to Mr.FU Xuan-cong and Mr.WU Zai-qing's criticism in hopes of getting their further attention.
