Abstract

This paper develops almost sure convergence for sums of negatively superadditive dependent random vectors in Hilbert spaces, we obtain Chung type SLLN and the Jaite type SLLN for sequences of negatively superadditive dependent random vectors in Hilbert spaces. Rate of convergence is studied through considering almost sure convergence to 0 of tail series. As an application, the almost sure convergence of degenerate von Mises-statistics is investigated.  相似文献

Both Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund strong laws of large numbers (MZ-SLLNs) and ordinary strong laws of large numbers (SLLNs) for plug-in estimators of general statistical functionals are derived. It is used that if a statistical functional is ‘sufficiently regular’, then an (MZ-)SLLN for the estimator of the unknown distribution function yields an (MZ-)SLLN for the corresponding plug-in estimator. It is in particular shown that many L-, V- and risk functionals are ‘sufficiently regular’ and that known results on the strong convergence of the empirical process of α-mixing random variables can be improved. The presented approach does not only cover some known results but also provides some new strong laws for plug-in estimators of particular statistical functionals.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper, we obtain the exponential-type inequalities for maximal partial sums of negatively superadditive dependent (NSD) random variables, which extends the corresponding results for independent and negatively associated (NA) random variables. Using these inequalities, we further investigate the weak convergence of the M-estimators in the generalized linear model with NSD errors, which generalize and improve the corresponding results of the independent random errors to that of NSD random errors.  相似文献

The condition of the strong law of large numbers is obtained for sequences of random elements in type p Banach spaces that are blockwise orthogonal. The current work extends a result of Chobanyan & Mandrekar (2000) [On Kolmogorov SLLN under rearrangements for orthogonal random variables in a B ‐space. J. Theoret. In this paper, we establish strong laws for weighted sums of negatively associated (NA) random variables which have a higher‐order moment condition. Some results of Bai Z.D. & Cheng P.E. (2000) [Marcinkiewicz strong laws for linear statistics. Statist. and Probab. Lett. 43, 105–112,] and Sung S.K. (2001) [Strong laws for weighted sums of i.i.d. random variables, Statist. and Probab. Lett. 52, 413–419] are sharpened and extended from the independent identically distributed case to the NA setting. Also, one of the results of Li D.L. et al. (1995) [Complete convergence and almost sure convergence of weighted sums of random variables. J. Theoret. Probab. 8, 49–76,] is complemented and extended.  相似文献

In this paper, we get the Hajek–Renyi-type inequality under 0 < q ? 2 for a sequence of extended negatively dependent (END) random variables with concrete coefficients, which generalizes and extends the general Hajek–Renyi-type inequality. It is known that linear regression models have immense applications in various areas such as engineering technology, economics and social sciences. In this paper, we investigate the asymptotic properties of M-estimator in multivariate linear regression model based on a class of random errors satisfying a generalised Bernstein-type inequality. By using the generalised Bernstein-type inequality, we obtain a general result on almost sure convergence for a class of random variables and then obtain the strong consistency for the M-estimator in multivariate linear regression models under some mild conditions. The result extends or improves some existing ones in the literature. Moreover, we also consider the case when the dimension $p$ tends to infinity by establishing the rate of almost sure convergence for a class of random variables satisfying generalised Bernstein-type inequality. Some numerical simulations are also provided to verify the validity of the theoretical results.  相似文献

This paper gives the discrete distribution of the first j significant digits of two random variables: (1) a beta variable with integer parameter n and the other parameter m > 0, and (2) the reciprocal of (1). As a special case for n=1, we obtain the distribution of the first j significant digits of the pwoers of uniformly distributed random variables. These generalize the results of Kennard and Reith (1981) and Friedberg (1984), who considered only uniformly distributed random variables.  相似文献

Fujikoshi (1982) obtained the necessary and sufficient conditions for the increased number of variables in the two sets of vectors not affecting the original nonzero canonical correlations and used these to obtain the likelihood ratio test procedure. He assumed a nonsingular covariance matrix due to random variables. Here, we study the same problem when the covariance matrix is singular and establish some further results. In this study, we note that the unit canonical correlations have to be separated in some of the situations. These results are valid for complex random vector variables and in some situations, the test for redundancy is given for complex random variables.  相似文献

In this article, we develop a series estimation method for unknown time-inhomogeneous functionals of Lévy processes involved in econometric time series models. To obtain an asymptotic distribution for the proposed estimators, we establish a general asymptotic theory for partial sums of bivariate functionals of time and nonstationary variables. These results show that the proposed estimators in different situations converge to quite different random variables. In addition, the rates of convergence depend on various factors rather than just the sample size. Finite sample simulations are provided to evaluate the finite sample performance of the proposed model and estimation method.  相似文献

In this paper, we obtain complete convergence results for Stout type weighted sums of i.i.d. random variables. A strong law for weighted sums of i.i.d. random variables is also obtained. In this paper, we first establish the strong convergence for weighted sums of extended negatively dependent (END) random variables. Based on the strong convergence and Bernstein inequality, we obtain the strong consistency of M-estimates of the regression parameters in a linear model for END random errors under some mild moment conditions. In this paper we consider properties of the logarithmic and Tukey's lambda-type transformations of random variables that follow beta or unit-gamma distributions. Beta distributions often arise as models for random proportions, and unit-gamma distributions, although not well- known, may serve the same purpose. The latter possess many properties similar to those of beta distributions. Some transformations of random variables that follow a beta distribution are considered by Johnson (1949) and Johnson and Kotz (1970,1973). These are used to obtain a -new"random variable that potentially approximately follows a normal distribution, so that practical analyses become possible. We study normality -related properties of the above transformations. This is done for the first time for unit-gamma distributions. Under the logarithmic transformation the beta and unit-gamma distributions become, respectively, the logarithmic F and generalized logistic distributions. The distributions of the transformed beta and unit-gamma distributions after application of Tukey's lambda-type transformations cannot be derived easily; however, we obtain the first four moments and expressions for the skewness and kudos is of the transformed variables. Values of skewness and kurtosis for a variety of different parameter values are calculated, and in consequence, the near (or not near) normality of the transformed variables is evaluated. In this paper we study the life behavior of \(\delta \) -shock models when the shocks occur according to a renewal process whose interarrival distribution is uniform. It is known that the normal approximation is applicable for sums of non negative random variables, W, with the commonly employed couplings. In this work, we use the Stein’s method to obtain a general theorem of non uniform exponential bound on normal approximation base on monotone size bias couplings of W. Applications of the main result to give the bound on normal approximation for binomial random variable, the number of bulbs on at the terminal time in the lightbulb process, and the number of m runs are also provided.  相似文献
