Tightening the net: children, community, and control

The recent move to revitalize social democracy in the UK under the New Labour government, explored by Giddens as 'the Third Way', embraces many of Etzioni's ideas on communitarianism. The principles that emerge from these political philosophies, such as the involvement of local communities in policy consultations and implementation, have largely been welcomed as a reflection of the aim of revitalizing civic society in the context of a range of social policies. It is argued, however, that for children, contrary to this general trend, many of these policies represent attempts to increase the social control of children. Their effect has been to restrict children's agency and their rights, rather than to increase their participation as citizens, and thus,in spite of the requirements of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, children continue to be marginalized.     

Attachment Themes in the Family Narratives of Preschool Children: A Qualitative Analysis

The family narratives of two preschool children (male and female) rated extremely high in social competence were compared to the narratives of two other children (also male and female) rated extremely low in social competence for differences in qualities of parent-child relationships and narrative structure. The children were participants in a larger study of parent-child relationships in post-divorce families. Three narratives of the ten-narrative Attachment Story Completion Task-Revised were analyzed qualitatively. Differences between children rated high and low in social competence were observed in areas such as the representation of problem resolutions, narrative coherence, predictable consequences for behavior, role modeling, responsiveness of parents to children's needs, emotional expression, children's ambivalence for caregivers, and family integrity. Implications for further research involving representations of attachment security in narrative play are discussed.     

生态学视角下的流动儿童心理健康研究

随着大量的农民工进入城市,许多原本生活在农村的儿童也随其父母进城成为城市中的“流动儿童”。流动儿童群体在城市生活融人过程中受到来自不同群体及环境的排斥,从而出现了身份认同困境。身份认同困境会阻碍流动儿童的健康发展,也会产生一系列的社会问题。因此,社会工作者有义务和责任对流动儿童采取扶持措施。     

浅析留守儿童的专业社会工作介入

儿童时期关系到一个人的初始社会化过程,对人的一生影响重大,因此儿童福利工作在许多国家的社会福利体系中占据重要地位。社会工作介入儿童福利体系,体现了我国福利社会化的趋势,也更有利于儿童身心健康的全面发展。文本从中国一个特殊的儿童群体—留守儿童群体出发。分析了这一群体的特点以及针对这些特点可以采用的一些社会工作方法。希望社会工作的服务范围能更广地涉及到这一群体,为他们提供一个更加平等的成长环境。     

Investigating a Longitudinal Trajectory of Child Obesity and Its Association with Child Maltreatment in South Korea

This study investigated the association between child maltreatment and body mass index (BMI) using data from four waves (wave 2 in 2011 through 5 in 2014) of the Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey collected by the South Korean National Youth Policy Institute. We employed a latent growth curve modeling approach to estimate an unobserved latent trajectory and to test the longitudinal effects of child abuse and neglect on BMI. Our results indicate that child abuse is significantly associated with BMI and children who report higher levels of abuse tend to have higher rates of increase in their BMI. This study addresses a gap in the literature by demonstrating that a parent's maltreatment of their child has a long‐term effect on the rate of change in their BMI over time.     

单亲贫困家庭子女学校适应问题与社会工作的介入策略——以安徽省某街道五户家庭子女为例

采用定性研究方法,通过对安徽省合肥市蜀山区某街道的五户单亲贫困家庭子女进行深入访谈,从学业层面、情绪层面、人际层面分别了解他们对生活的感受与理解,提出他们在学校适应方面存在着一定的困难和障碍,以及社会工作有相应的介入空间。尝试从专业视角出发,采用赋权理论,探讨社会工作介入的必要性、可能性,以及社会工作介入的途径与方法。社会工作的介入,既有助于帮助他们更好地适应因家庭环境不良在学校所陷入的困境,提升他们应对学校适应困难和解决问题的能力,也有利于解决由单亲贫困家庭所带来的系列社会问题,维持社会秩序、实现社会稳定。     

昆明市流动人口子女家庭教育特征分析

运用调查问卷和访谈资料对昆明市流动人口子女家庭教育进行研究。研究结果显示,流动人口子女家庭教育投资理性化、家庭教育期望理想化、家庭教养方式非科学化、家庭教育责任模糊化的现状特征。     

传续与发展-南锣鼓巷社区建设中的文化实践

文化建设是社区建设中的重要组成部分.本文以北京市南锣鼓巷为田野调查点,在对南锣鼓巷利用传统文化创建和谐社区的过程进行深描的基础上,对社区建设过程中如何保护、传承与利用传统文化进行了反思,从而指出,民众的参与才是传统文化得以传续的生命力,传统文化在为社区建设服务的过程中不应该过分屈服于商业化运作,而应保持相对独立性.     

进城农民工子女污名化问题的社工介入

进城农民工子女陷入“被污名化”的困境,是当前这一特殊群体面临的一个突出问题。将社会工作以人为本、全面发展的理念及其个案工作方法、小组工作方法、社区工作方法引入进城农民工子女的污名化研究,有助于激发他们内在的潜能,促使其自觉地接受和适应这个社会并最终被这个社会接纳的理念,有助于进城农民工子女形成健康良好的心理和人格修养,更好地融入社会。     

独生子女心理健康研究综述

中国的独生子女心理健康研究经历了三十年,表现在心理异常、智力发展、人格发展、人际关系、情绪控制等方面取得一些成果,争议并存。目前的研究在角度和方法都有一些成就,但是在关注除了大学生群体之外的青少年独生子女群体、父母对独生子女心理健康的关注度和独生子女父母心理对孩子的影响方面仍然可以有所突破。
