Religion,Convention, and Paternal Involvement

Family scholarship has generally overlooked the influence that religion may have on paternal involvement. Accordingly, using longitudinal data taken from the National Survey of Families and Households, I examined the influence of religious affiliation and attendance on the involvement of residential fathers in one‐on‐one activities, dinner with their families, and youth activities and found religious effects for each of these three measures. Virtually no evidence was found for a competing hypothesis that these effects are artifacts of a conventional habitus such that the type of men who are more conventional in their patterns of civic engagement are both more religious and more involved with their children. However, civic engagement is positively related to paternal involvement.     

论我国民间对日索赔的困境与对策

自1995年中国花冈劳工诉日本鹿岛株式会社发端,中国民间对日索赔诉讼已历经18个春秋,诉讼案达31件,除4例和解外,终审无一胜诉。日本法院晚近判决中,驳回我国民间索赔的主要理由有二：一是据《中日联合声明》中国政府已放弃民间索赔;二是已过诉讼时效。据国际法理对上述理由剖析与审定,一方面可知以上二者均背离了国际法原则,进而可助益民间对日索赔走出困境。另一方面对维护我国受害者及其遗族的合法权益,彻底解决二战赔偿问题,根本矫正日本军国主义传统,亦具重大现实意义。     

The Role of Joint Attention in Later Development Among Preterm Children: Linkages Between Early and Middle Childhood

Joint attention is a hallmark of human cognition. It refers to the capacity to coordinate attention to objects and events with attention to other people. Infants display considerable individual differences in this capacity. This longitudinal study of 13‐month‐old preterms was conducted to examine the hypothesis that two different types of joint‐attention skills assessed in an infant–tester paradigm are related to verbal and nonverbal IQ measures through middle childhood. Data are reported separately for the children's tendency to initiate such skills and to respond to an experimenter's offers to share in such behaviours. The results provide support for the hypothesis that the initiation of joint attention makes a unique contribution to later nonverbal IQ apart from variance associated with biomedical risk status and infant development. The results of this study have implications for the conceptualisation of joint‐attention skills, as well as for understanding the relation between joint attention and later cognition.

美国对台军售应对策略的国际法分析

中美正式建交33年来,美国政府严重违背了其在“八·一七公报”中对中国的承诺,不断地对台湾出售武器,并且出售武器的性能和数量不断增加。从国际法角度分析美国对台军售：第一,美国对台军售严重违反了国际条约法的基本原则;第二,美国对台军售严重侵犯了中国的国家主权;第三,美国对台军售严重违反了不干涉内政的国际法基本原则。在此基础上,中国应该积极从国内层面和国际层面寻求国际法对策,从而敦促美国停止对台军售,促使中美关系良性发展。     

Critical Realism and the Process Account of Emergence

For advocates of critical realism emergence is a central theme. Critical realists typically ground their defence of the relative disciplinary autonomy of various sciences by arguing that emergent phenomena exist in a robust non‐ontologically, non‐causally reductionist sense. Despite the importance they attach to it critical realists have only recently begun to elaborate on emergence at length and systematically compare their own account with those developed by others. This paper clarifies what is distinctive about the critical realist account of emergence by comparing it with an alternative. Critical realism and interactivism are shown to independently converge on the same general process (or constraint) view of emergence and develop complementary accounts of particular emergents.     

清水江流域苗族古歌的伦理观与社会规约

苗族古歌为苗族古代经典,作为无文字社会的口传经典不同于文字的经典叙事,苗族古歌具有民众性、日常性和表演性。清水江流域苗族古歌不仅反映了清水江苗族的祖先记忆、族群历史,而且是苗族生活的指导性原则,其“开亲歌”和“苗族贾理”即为苗族伦理观和社会规约的经典性口传文本。清水江流域苗族古歌主要从苗族的家与家族、人与自然的生态伦理和人与人的社会伦理、社会规约等方面规范着苗人的日常生活和行为准则,并模塑清水江苗族的经济社会结构。现代化以来苗族经济社会结构的转型带来了苗族伦理观与社会规约的变化,苗族行为准则的“文本”开始由口传经典转化为国家法律与制度,苗族古歌也从“日常生活”状态转化为“非物质文化遗产”的“文本”形式。
