兴趣是学习的源泉和动力 ,当一个人对某种事物发生浓厚而稳定的兴趣时 ,他对事物的观察力就变得敏锐 ,逻辑记忆增强 ,想像力丰富。兴趣还能促进学生创造力的产生 ,兴趣的激发和培养能促进非智力因素其他各方面的发展。如果学生对学习活动产生了兴趣 ,他就会保持旺盛的求知欲 ,增强其学习的积极性 ,主动探求新知识 ,并且能在学习遇到困难时 ,坚强地克服困难 ,不畏艰辛和劳苦 ,从而取得最后的成功     

A bi-criteria model for loading on PCB assembly machines

The problem of loading PCBs on automated assembling machines with the twin objectives of minimizing the makespan and balancing the load is addressed in this study. Noting that setup times are route-dependent and insertion times are relatively negligible, this paper develops a new algorithm which performs well on trial data sets.     

Scheduling and compression for a multiple robot assembly workcell

A scheduling and compression strategy is presented for a multiple robot assembly workcell. Based on dynamic programming, the algorithm gives an initial assembly sequence for a two- or three-robot cell with a common resource or dedicated ones. The initial assembly sequence is computed efficiently, with computational complexity of being O (log n/k) where n is the number of elements in k resources. Then the initial sequence is further compressed towards the time-optimal assemblysequence. Precedence constraints in assembly are considered. The scheme is tested using computer simulations and some test results are presented. For the problems solved (typically involving 20 elements), the computational times were less than 5 seconds in an Apollo 300 workstation.     

Shopfloor control practices in three Pacific basin countries: a comparative view of small machine tool industry

The strategic importance of manufacturing decisions to the competitive position of a firm is well known. As the sphere of competition has expanded from regional to national to international, successful manufacturing decisions have become ever more complex. The success of manufacturing strategics ultimately rests on proper tactical implementation at the shopfloor level. In order to explore various operating policies and procedures at a basic level, and to contrast them with some commonly held beliefs, this paper examines and compares the shopfloor practices of companies in the small machines too! industry in selected countries in the Pacific rim, namely; Japan,

China and South Korea. While many popular views on manufacturing practices in these countries are supported by the study, the results challenge other commonly held views.     

Optimizing the number of stations in assembly lines under learning for limited production

This paper considers finding the optimal number of stations for an assembly line producing a limited quantity of a new product under learning conditions. This type of production characterizes heavy products (such as airplanes and communication systems) and science-based industries (e.g. laser cutting devices and special equipment for hospitals). These products are manufactured in assembly line fashion in small batches of a few hundred. Since the products are assumed to be totally new to the workers, the learning phenomenon is significant (i.e. task times decrease from cycle to cycle as experience is gained). Therefore, standard balancing methods are no longer applicable. Determining the number of stations has a large effect on the production rate while the actual assignment of tasks to stations helps to fine tune the cycle time. Thus, the number of stations can be regarded as a strategic decision variable . This paper discusses two ways for determining the optimal number of stations, namely as a cost minimization problem and as a profit maximization problem.
