Explorations on mediated communication and beyond: Toward a theory of social media

Although robust theories of radio, television, cinema, journalism, and other areas of mass media already exist, the social media sphere has received relatively little original theorizing. Modeled after Berger and Calabrese’s (1975) seminal “axioms of human communication” article, this essay takes stock of the existing research on social media, and uses the same approach to theorizing about social media, advancing 7 axioms and 21 theorems, and exploring how the propositions chronicled can be used to build social media theory and improve public relations practice.     

金融服务贸易与经济增长关系的实证分析

金融服务贸易是世界经济和金融发展的重要组成部分。近年来,跨境交付和商业存在模式的金融服务贸易在我国增长迅速,并在促进经济增长中发挥着重要作用。以我国1997—2011年相关时间序列数据为样本,进行平稳性检验、协整检验和格兰杰检验,分析我国金融服务贸易与经济增长之间的关系。结果表明,跨境交付和商业存在模式的金融服务贸易与经济增长之间存在长期均衡关系,对经济增长具有正相关效应;跨境交付模式的金融服务贸易是经济增长的单向格兰杰原因,促进了商业存在模式金融服务贸易的发展。     

阴阳五行学说与哲学的"在场"、"不在场"--中西体验本体世界方式的差别

传统西方哲学体验世界本体的主旨在于追求永恒的"在场",试图从复杂的存在世界中发现统一的本质,认为"不在场"是不真实的,导致了本体与现象的分离和对立.二十世纪以来许多哲学家都对在场形而上学进行了怀疑、反思甚至作出了最彻底的解构.后现代哲学的不在场理论与中国的阴阳五行学说是相通融的.阴阳互为依托、互为渊源,在场的与不在场的互为根据.阴阳五行之间具有本体论上的平等和同样的真实性,不存在谁对谁的占有和主宰,从而克服了西方形而上学中的在场对不在场的超越.阴阳五行"终始转移"、往复循环,构成一幅无底的世界图景,形成独特风格的本体世界体验方式.     

重回在场——兼论哲学作为一种生活方式

20世纪的哲学体现了典型的逃离在场的特征,分析哲学以过去掩盖现在,实用主义以未来掩盖现在,结构主义以那里掩盖这里,而德里达的解构主义则是逃离在场的集大成者。逃离在场使现代专业哲学陷入狭隘的学院主义的困境而失去了自身的活力。要重新恢复哲学的活力,需要倡导重回在场,进而倡导将哲学作为一种生活方式来实践。     

论华滋华斯诗学的逻各斯中心主义

将华滋华斯的诗学置于西方文化的大背景中来进行考察,可深入分析其所表现出来的逻各斯中心主义传统。深受１８世纪最大的逻各斯中心主义代表卢梭的影响,华滋华斯坚持言语优于写作,相信有个终极所指（自然）,并在其文学实践中始终追求这一终极所指。同时,我们还探讨了华滋华斯的逻各斯中心主义与其社会观的联系,以及华滋华斯作为一个逻各斯中心主义者所陷入的两难处境。     

将外国商业存在引入国际贸易统计 ——针对中国对外货物贸易统计的研究与数据重估

 货物进出口贸易数据是衡量中国经济的重要指标,在全球化背景下,跨国公司在世界范围内布置生产链,通过外国商业存在拓展了传统意义上的跨境贸易,由此突显出传统跨境贸易统计的不适应性。本文分析了直接投资所引起的附属机构的国别属性问题;搭建了从跨境贸易统计到属权贸易统计的基本框架以及调整方法;最后集中针对中国货物进出口贸易进行了分步、分口径的调整测算,并系统发掘了调整过程所包含的信息,为评价中国货物进出口贸易提供了不同的图景。     

The roles of moral sensitivity and father presence on the relationship between violent video game exposure and aggression among left-behind adolescents

This cross-sectional study explored the relationship between violent video game exposure (VVGE) and aggression in left-behind adolescents (LBAs) in China, taking into account the effects of moral sensitivity and father presence. A cluster sampling design was applied in this study; we recruited 615 adolescents (45.85% male, age range 12–18 years, M_age = 14.70 years, SD = 1.66) from China. The results by using SPSS 25.0 and the PROCESS macro showed that VVGE was positively associated with LBAs' trait aggression and its items, and moral sensitivity played a partial mediating role in these relationships. Moreover, father presence moderated VVGE and LBAs' trait aggression, verbal aggression and hostility. Specifically, at a high level of father presence, the direct effect of VVGE on trait aggression was significantly moderated by increasing the level of father presence, whereas this moderating effect was not significant at a low level of father presence. The results were similar for verbal aggression and hostility. Thus, moral sensitivity and father presence should be considered in prevention and intervention strategies aimed at reducing LBAs' aggression.     

Cruel (im)mobilities and the nearly utopian intimacies of Italian migrants’ personal relationships

Most research on visits focuses on (semi)successful connections that equate valued intimacy to adaptation to transnational life and ethno-national kin obligations. In contrast, we highlight important migrant relationships where adaptation is minimal and contact diminishes, yet they also take on heightened affective intensity. Drawing from a multi-sited ethnography that includes migrants and friends and family, we examine the affective and ethical dimensions of visits and ICTs (information and communications technology) within the personal relationships of highly skilled Italian migrants in London. Deploying the concepts cruel optimism and polyrhythmia, the paper examines how contrasting rhythms of visits and ICTs provoke reflections and feelings on whether intimacies at a distance are ‘real’. Despite difficulties, informants suggest intimacies ‘feel normal’, imbuing relations with hope for their authenticity that grounds relations in a state of mobile impasse: where feelings of normalcy lead to less interest in recreating connections yet also constructs hope that sustains visits and digital connections.     

Experimenter Presence or Absence: An Experimental Analogue with Implications for Organizational Behavior Management

Students performed a simulated bank-proofing task individually in a lab with either the experimenter present or absent. Although run rates were similar, those in the Experimenter-Absent Group were off-task twice as much during sessions. Error frequencies for both groups were low and similar while rates of responding were significantly higher (+13%) in the Experimenter-Present Group because participants were off-task less often. Most human lab experiments fail to specify whether experimenters are present or absent in the room and this extraneous variable is a potential confound that should be controlled in future studies.
