Identities and inequalities for the expected values of random matrices and loewner's theory

We consider the identity associated with the expected values of the matrix-valued quadratic forms of two random matrices. As a special case the identity yields the matrix-valued inequality of the Schwarz type. The most important application is for Loewner's theory in the context of the operator-monotone function, and the inequalities based on the concavityconvexity of the matrix-valued functions are derived.     

Cognitive Mapping Tools: Review and Risk Management Needs

Risk managers are increasingly interested in incorporating stakeholder beliefs and other human factors into the planning process. Effective risk assessment and management requires understanding perceptions and beliefs of involved stakeholders, and how these beliefs give rise to actions that influence risk management decisions. Formal analyses of risk manager and stakeholder cognitions represent an important first step. Techniques for diagramming stakeholder mental models provide one tool for risk managers to better understand stakeholder beliefs and perceptions concerning risk, and to leverage this new understanding in developing risk management strategies. This article reviews three methodologies for assessing and diagramming stakeholder mental models—decision‐analysis‐based mental modeling, concept mapping, and semantic web analysis—and assesses them with regard to their ability to address risk manager needs.

"游戏"概念在伽达默尔的《真理与方法》一书中占有重要地位,甚至可以将其视为理解《真理与方法》一书的中心线索.从解读伽达默尔对游戏概念的规定出发,通过探讨游戏与艺术之间的关联,既可以进一步辨析伽达默尔视野下的"游戏"概念存在的问题,又能够达成对"游戏"概念重要意义和关键价值的深入理解,更为正确把握伽达默尔的诠释学理论提供了路径.     

Reporting disability in the age of austerity: the changing face of media representation of disability and disabled people in the United Kingdom and the creation of new ‘folk devils’

Following its election in 2010 the UK’s Coalition Government has sought to implement radical restructuring of disability-related benefits justified by reference to the financial crises of 2007/08. In this article we examine how these changes have impacted on coverage of disability in the UK media comparing and contrasting coverage of disability in newspapers in 2010/11 with a similar period in 2004/05. Our analysis suggests that disabled people have become a ‘folk devil’ and that there has been a significant change in the way that disability is reported. Newspaper coverage in 2010/11 was less sympathetic and there was an increase in articles that focused on disability benefit and fraud, and an increase in the use of pejorative language to describe disabled people. An audience reception study suggests that this coverage is having an impact on the way that people think about disabled people.

基于NK模型的组织复杂性情境下管理者认知表征作用的仿真研究

通过分析管理者的认知表征在组织复杂性情境下对组织决策的影响机理,提取出表征强度、表征偏差和经验丰裕度3个重要因素,并基于NK模型进行了相应的仿真。研究结果显示,管理者的认知表征能有效改善组织复杂情境下的决策效果。最后,以此为基础建立了表征强度、表征偏差和经验丰裕度对组织决策的影响机制模型。

本文在解释何谓自然语言逻辑的基础上,从“自然语言逻辑是逻辑学和语言学交互作用的产物”和“自然语言逻辑是逻辑学顺应信息时代发展的产物”两个方面,来论述逻辑学与语言学和信息科学的关系和自然语言逻辑的学科性质,并对自然语言逻辑的研究概况作一简明的描述。     

从空间视角解读《宠儿》中黑人群体的建构

托尼·莫里森对空间的社会性具有深刻的理解.她的《宠儿》呈现了美国19世纪的种族现实、种族奴役、种族歧视和种族仇恨,其种族问题实质上是空间问题.以列斐伏尔的“空间论”解读《宠儿》可以将小说中的种族关系和空间关系架构起来,并将黑人群体的建构之旅以空间视角进行再现:白人通过书写的种族空间表征对黑人进行空间规训,内化黑人的意识形态,造成黑人群体的意识麻痹;黑人则选择边缘,以表征空间为主要途径进行背离白人空间表征规训的空间实践,进行空间织造.最终,黑人群体的建构过程在空间实践与表征中呈现出来.
