Mobility as a stratifying factor in housing: dwelling-in-place contra dwelling-on-the-move in Sweden

Housing is almost entirely overlooked in mobility studies. Yet mobility is intrinsically linked to housing, not only for the cybernetic elite or global nomads, but also for the middle class. Through a comparative case study of two extreme cases of housing, the Markeliushus from 1935 and Victoria Park from 2009, this study found that mobility has been continuously linked to discourses and practices of housing the modern Swede. Furthermore the findings suggest that two contrasting housing forms have evolved: dwelling-in-place and dwelling-on-the-move. I argue that these two housing forms are part of an evolving stratification of housing based on mobility. The article concludes that mobility has become an entry point for disaffiliation by privileged groups, accessible through housing.     

How is internal migration reshaping metropolitan populations in Latin America? A new method and new evidence

Internal migration is a key driver of patterns of human settlement and socio-economic development, but little is known about its compositional impacts. Exploiting the wide availability of census data, we propose a method to quantify the internal migration impacts on local population structures, and estimate these impacts for eight large Latin American cities. We show that internal migration generally had small feminizing, downgrading educational, and demographic window effects: reducing the local sex ratio, lowering the average years of schooling, and raising the share of working-age population due to an increased young adult population. Over time, a rise in the proportion of males and a drop in the share of the young adult population moving into cities reduced the feminizing and demographic window effects. Concurrently, a rise in the average years of schooling associated with people moving into cities attenuated the downgrading impact of internal migration on local education levels.

游览型寺庙靠近风景游览地、与风景游览地和园林一起成为明清文人士大夫阶层和平民百姓阶层休闲的主要场所。本文以清代游览型寺庙诗文统计为基础,分析了北京游览型寺庙的类型、分布特征及影响因素。寺庙尤其是佛教寺庙自身吸引能力的增强,宣南汉族文人的聚集效应及文人对城区荒野环境和野趣的新偏好是清代外城西区休闲功能和地位迅速提升的主要推动因素。     

中国海洋经济空间格局及产业结构演变

20世纪90年代中期以来,我国海洋经济飞速发展,海洋经济空间格局及产业结构发生了显著变化。应用标准差、变异系数、聚类中迭代和聚类法（K-means）等方法分析1995年、2003年、2009年沿海11省（市、区）海洋经济空间格局,发现其正由单核心发展模式向多核心连片式发展格局演变;选取海洋产业结构变动值指标、产业结构熵数指标和Moore结构变化指标对沿海各省（市、区）1995—2009年海洋产业结构演进特征进行剖析,发现多个省（市、区）海洋产业结构尚有较大调整空间。     

What Happens When Wal‐Mart Comes to Town: An Empirical Analysis of the Discount Retailing Industry

In the past few decades multistore retailers, especially those with 100 or more stores, have experienced substantial growth. At the same time, there is widely reported public outcry over the impact of these chain stores on other retailers and local communities. This paper develops an empirical model to assess the impact of chain stores on other discount retailers and to quantify the size of the scale economies within a chain. The model has two key features. First, it allows for flexible competition patterns among all players. Second, for chains, it incorporates the scale economies that arise from operating multiple stores in nearby regions. In doing so, the model relaxes the commonly used assumption that entry in different markets is independent. The lattice theory is exploited to solve this complicated entry game among chains and other discount retailers in a large number of markets. It is found that the negative impact of Kmart's presence on Wal‐Mart's profit was much stronger in 1988 than in 1997, while the opposite is true for the effect of Wal‐Mart's presence on Kmart's profit. Having a chain store in a market makes roughly 50% of the discount stores unprofitable. Wal‐Mart's expansion from the late 1980s to the late 1990s explains about 40–50% of the net change in the number of small discount stores and 30–40% for all other discount stores. Scale economies were important for Wal‐Mart, but less so for Kmart, and the magnitude did not grow proportionately with the chains' sizes.     

客户空间行为的空间交互和离散选择模型研究

客户空间行为模型可以帮助解释空间竞争态势、提供管理建议、预测销售以及选址决策.在以往相关研究的基础上,深入研究空间结构对客户空间行为的影响,指出相对空间位置的重要作用,提出相对空间位置变量及度量方法.在离散选择模型的框架下,结合相对空间位置变量的客户空间行为模型更好地解释了空间结构对空间行为的影响,提高了参数空间无关性.在一个真实的城市空间中调查客户超市选择行为数据,并基于这些数据验证了模型有效性.     

论装置艺术中的空间设计

文章围绕形成于20世纪60年代、活跃于当代的重要美术品种——装置艺术展开,通过对装置艺术空间设计的探讨,认为其两个重要的特征分别是“实物”与“观念”的结合、“互文性”的空间关系,并结合经典作品作了细致分析和论证。同时表示,这种跨越纯艺术学科和设计学科的交叉研究不仅是对设计学科自身研究方向的拓展,同时也可以看做是对艺术史研究方法的一种探索。     

论叙事空间结构

叙事空间结构由于无形和不确定而成为叙事理论中的难题,其理论演绎的轨迹旷日持久、充满论战而仍无定论.从史的角度聚焦叙事空间、叙事空间的表现形式和叙事空间化阅读这些核心概念,可以发现叙事空间结构是由时空轴,即水平叙事轴和垂直叙事轴建构的.这一坐标的发现为空间化诠释叙事文本奠定了理论基石.

合肥民航家园小区的空间形态规划——皖南传统聚落空间营建策略的当代借鉴

传统建筑文化是一种宝贵资源,其内涵的探索与传承是现代社会的历史责任。皖南传统聚落空间的营建策略具有极大的人文价值和宜居价值。合肥民航家园小区整体布局形态遵循着有序的生态空间布局形式,借鉴皖南建筑传统聚落整体空间的朴素生态观,居住小区内的功能空间布局各具特色,整体风格和谐统一。文章以合肥民航家园居住小区的空间形态规划为例,对皖南传统聚落空间营建策略的当代借鉴进行分析与研究,以期对当代居住规划有所启迪。
