Scientific justification of social policies: concepts of language and immigrant integration

Population mobility, globalisation, and the Internet contribute to the change of immigration patterns and the emergence of new kinds of identities and integration strategies. It is necessary to re-examine the heuristic significance of this field's key concepts in order to ensure that relevant and theoretically sound knowledge consistently informs integration policies, measures, and programmes. This paper focuses on the concepts of language and maintains that a narrow-utilitarian approach to the issue of language and integration may thrive due to uncritical acceptance of an instrumentalist view on language as a means of communication and/or a social marker together with an essentialist concept of identity that stems from the sociolinguistic tradition. However, this conceptual framework does not correspond to the complexity of the integration process in a contemporary society. The present paper aims to contribute to the field of language and immigrant integration via outlining an alternative approach to language grounded in the ideas of Humboldt, Potebnja, and Vygotsky (language as a creative force, a worldview, and a mediating tool) and discussing its potential for addressing the issue of integration in contemporary conditions.

在当今经济全球化背景下,供应链日益成为产业组织的一种主流生产模式,高端与专业性服务业的供应链整合尤为重要。服务企业能否形成以其为核心的供应链,关键取决于各自的供应链管理能力。通过考察上海商贸、金融、物流、计算机与信息服务业等涉及国际贸易中心建设的关键服务行业,在分析上海国际贸易中心建设中现代服务业供应链整合发展的现状与存在问题的基础上,提出上海增强服务业供应链整合能力的对策建议。     

Numerical evaluation of tests based on different heteroskedasticity-consistent covariance matrix estimators

This article considers the issue of performing tests in linear heteroskedastic models when the test statistic employs a consistent variance estimator. Several different estimators are considered, namely: HC0, HC1, HC2, HC3, and their bias-adjusted versions. The numerical evaluation is performed using numerical integration methods; the Imhof algorithm is used to that end. The results show that bias-adjustment of variance estimators used to construct test statistics delivers more reliable tests when they are performed for the HC0 and HC1 estimators, but the same does not hold for the HC3 estimator. Overall, the most reliable test is the HC3-based one.     

制造集团公司物流资源整合问题研究

根据分布区域广泛、局部区域比较集中和所有权复杂等制造集团公司物流资源的特点,提出制造集团公司物流资源整合思路的概念模型,并对某水泥生产集团物流资源整合的案例进行实证分析。在推动资源整合时,可以通过物流组织的服务设计来识别需要整合的资源;分析各整合参与方的利益分配来提高整合参与方的积极性。     

产融结合退出及影响因素分析——基于参股非上市金融公司视角的实证研究

以2007—2014年发生的我国A股上市公司参股非上市金融公司事件作为研究样本，对企业退出产融结合的现象进行了探讨，实证结果表明：每股收益越低、资产负债率越高、协同费用率越高、产融结合年限越短，企业越有可能退出产融结合。研究能帮助企业在实施产融结合后更有针对性地关注自身运营状况和财务状况，也为其建立健全风险监督与防范机制提供了一定的政策支持。     

独立学院通信工程专业实践教学体系构建探索

分析通信工程专业的特点,以天津理工大学中环信息学院为例,针对目前教学内容、教学方式、实践环节进行了研究和改革,采取校企结合的有效措施,让学生融入通信专业的工程环境,构建相对完善的实践教学体系,大大增强了学生的创新意识和综合分析问题、解决问题的能力。     

后改革时代相关问题研究综述

作为对一个新时代的称谓,后改革时代从提出伊始就一直活跃在人们的视线范围之内。本文从后改革时代的提法、后改革时代的划分时点及划分标志、后改革时代的特征、后改革时代需要解决的重大问题以及后改革时代的改革方向这几个基本层面,对目前学术界关于后改革时代及其相关问题的基础性研究进行理论梳理,试图从中寻找到后改革时代的真正逻辑。     

Tracing normal lives: between stigma and the will to be Cigano

Despite the stereotyped homogenisation of the Ciganos (or Gypsies/Roma) – often perceived as poor and marginalised – many have in fact taken different personal and family life paths. Taking into account a perspective of differentiated socialisation processes, social and family contexts and frames of life experiences, the aim of this paper is to present the main results obtained from a qualitative study where in-depth interviews were conducted with Ciganos integrated in the Portuguese labour market (as employees). Our focus is on the processes of social integration, on the many revelations of social and cultural pluralism, and on Gypsy identity, centring attentions and how such identification often serves to challenge the static and hegemonic conceptions about the cultural traits and representations of this population.     

The Promethean role of Europe: changing narratives of the political and scholarly left

ABSTRACT

The gradual abandoning of the ‘socialism in one country’ doctrine during the post-war period and the intensive transformation of European social democracy in the 1990s pushed social democratic politicians and intellectuals into the front line of advocates of a unified and powerful Europe. They contributed to the inclusion of social democratic and environmentalist values in the EU’s official narrative. The success of European integration and George W. Bush’s presidency created the narrative of the Promethean role of Europe. Scholars with a social democratic or environmentalist background created this narrative and it was also shaped by authors’ national contexts.
