In this paper we propose a general cure rate aging model. Our approach enables different underlying activation mechanisms which lead to the event of interest. The number of competing causes of the event of interest is assumed to follow a logarithmic distribution. The model is parameterized in terms of the cured fraction which is then linked to covariates. We explore the use of Markov chain Monte Carlo methods to develop a Bayesian analysis for the proposed model. Moreover, some discussions on the model selection to compare the fitted models are given, as well as case deletion influence diagnostics are developed for the joint posterior distribution based on the ψ-divergence, which has several divergence measures as particular cases, such as the Kullback–Leibler (K-L), J-distance, L1 norm, and χ2-square divergence measures. Simulation studies are performed and experimental results are illustrated based on a real malignant melanoma data.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new bivariate distribution, namely bivariate alpha-skew-normal distribution. The proposed distribution is very flexible and capable of generalizing the univariate alpha-skew-normal distribution as its marginal component distributions; it features a probability density function with up to two modes and has the bivariate normal distribution as a special case. The joint moment generating function as well as the main moments are provided. Inference is based on a usual maximum-likelihood estimation approach. The asymptotic properties of the maximum-likelihood estimates are verified in light of a simulation study. The usefulness of the new model is illustrated in a real benchmark data.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article, we proposed a new three parameter lifetime distribution motivated mainly by lifetime issues, which generalizes the Exponential Poisson distribution proposed by Cancho et al. (2011) Cancho, V.G., Louzada-Neto, F., Barriga, G.D. (2011). The poisson-exponential lifetime distribution. Computat. Statist. Data Anal. 55:677686.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]. We derive various standard mathematical properties of the proposed model including a formal proof of its probability density function and hazard rate function. The inference via the maximum likelihood approach is discussed. The performance of the maximum likelihood estimators, the likelihood ratio test and its power are studied by simulation. Finally, the proposed model is fitted to two real data sets and it is compared with several models.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a hybrid hazard regression model with threshold stress which includes the proportional hazards and the accelerated failure time models as particular cases. To express the behavior of lifetimes the generalized-gamma distribution is assumed and an inverse power law model with a threshold stress is considered. For parameter estimation we develop a sampling-based posterior inference procedure based on Markov Chain Monte Carlo techniques. We assume proper but vague priors for the parameters of interest. A simulation study investigates the frequentist properties of the proposed estimators obtained under the assumption of vague priors. Further, some discussions on model selection criteria are given. The methodology is illustrated on simulated and real lifetime data set.  相似文献

We discuss here an alternative approach for decreasing the bias of the closed-form estimators for the gamma distribution recently proposed by Ye and Chen in 2017. We show that, the new estimator has also closed-form expression, is positive, and can be computed for n?>?2. Although new transmuted distributions have been widely proposed in the last few years, it is rarely to find those class of models applied in survival analysis in the presence of censored lifetimes. In this context, we are concerned in applying the transmuted log-logistic model in the study of discharge times of patients treated with the Linezolid drug. For model fitting, we use and compare different profile likelihood methods. Analysis of residuals and influence are also presented. All results are validated in a simulation study by considering the bootstrap techniques.  相似文献
