论科学家的人文精神

众所周知,科学技术的价值是中立的。它到底给人类造福还是致祸,"行善"或者"威慑"完全取决于人,尤其取决于主导科学研究的科学家。科学家是否具有人文精神不仅仅关乎于他个人事业的是非成败,还关乎着整个国家、民族乃至全人类的祸福。因此,用人文引导科学发展,用人文精神武装科学家的头脑极为重要。从科学发展观考察我们所处时代科学技术发展的特征,可以发现,对当代科学家而言,必须具备的人文精神应包容以下三种:哲学的人文精神、道德的人文精神和艺术的人文精神。哲学的人文精神为科学家提供了科学的世界观和正确的思维方式;道德的人文精神规范了科学家的行为,使科学为人类造福;艺术的人文精神滋养科学家的灵魂,使其在臻美追求中洞见真理,彻悟道德的目标。

On Humanistic Spirit of Scientists

The value of science and technology is neutral,and whether it benefits us or brings misfortune to mankind depends on human beings themselves,especially on scientists who are the leading parts in scientific research.Whether a scientist has humanistic spirit or not concerns not only his personal cause of success or failure but weal and woe of a country and even the whole mankind.Therefore,it is of vital importance to guide the development of science,and arm the brains of the scientist with humanistic spirit.Nowadays,from the scientific concept of development to consider science and technology,scientists should be provided with three kinds of humanistic spirit: the humanism of philosophy,moral and art.The first one offers scientists scientific world view and correct way of thinking;the second offers criterion for their behaviors to make science benefit mankind;and the third nourishes their souls to apperceive truth and the goal of moral in pursuit of the perfection in scientific research.
