Abstract:Gunter Grass is one renowned postwar German writer. His main work The Tintambour won him the 99th Nobel Prize for literature. This novel inherits the tradition of The Baroque Tramp, that prevailed over the 17th century, and becomes the first works of the "Trilogy". Especially with the unprecedented tension and the abundant symbolic image it loads and transmits the author's great spirit of enlightenment. This article takes this as the decoding mouth and discusses the symbolic image detailedly in The Tintambour. I hope I can inquire about the author's deepest wisdom and the thought with this, and dig the German spiritual source.
