译者对翻译对等的操控——意识形态与诗学追求

对等作为翻译研究中的核心问题,随着翻译研究的文化转向,也从形式和内容的二元对立中解放出来,向着多层次的、语用的和文化功能的层面拓展。但是,从译者角度解读翻译中对等问题的研究还属鲜见。论文以Robinson的＂翻译身体学＂为理论框架,以系统范式为指导,从意识形态和诗学追求两方面探讨了译者个体及其历史背景对文本选择、翻译策略以及翻译质量的影响。研究发现,译者的意识形态和诗学追求决定了其翻译作品对等表现的性质。

Translator's Manipulation of the Equivalence in Translating: ideology and poetics

With the cultural turn in translation studies, equivalence, a central issue, has experienced a development from dual to multi levels of correspondence. The study of equivalence breaks down the dichotomy of form and content and expands to pragmatic and cultural factors in translating. Thus, equivalence discussed from translator＇s perspective is of high necessity and significance. Using systems philosophy and Robinson＇s Somatics of Translation as the methodological and theoretical framework, this article discusses the effect of translator＇s values and historical background on the text selection, translation strategies and translation quality and concludes that translator＇s ideology and poetics determines the nature of the equivalence in translation.
