| Abstract: | This essay is to examine possible ways in which a World English perspective could inform the teaching and learning of English in China. English as a lingua franca cannot be linked to any one country or culture;instead,it should belong to those who use it,therefore culture teaching in ELT needs to be more than supplying information about various cultures. Students need to be encouraged to reflect on their own culture in relation to others as a way of establishing a sphere of interculturality. |
