The poetics and poetic creation of Liu Song

Liu Song emphasized the importance of expressing character in poetics and pointed out that poems should reveal the poet's true feelings and gift.He wrote a large number of poems which depict the conflicts between his desire for freedom and wish for achievements and honor,and between his disposition for official posts and inclination for hermitage.They also reflect the chaotic social reality of the late Yuan Dynasty and the disastrous sufferings it brought upon the people.
