从译者风格看《红楼梦》的文化意象翻译

我国古典名著《红楼梦》中文化意象丰富，要求译者具有深刻的文化意识。文章从译者不同的翻译风格着手，对比分析了杨完益和大卫·霍克思的两个英译本对文化意象的不同处理。杨宪益采取异化的翻译策略，尽量保留原语中的文化意象，霍克斯采取归化的翻译策略，可读性强，但影响了文化意象的传递。

The Translators' Styles and the Cultural Image Translation in Two English Versions of A Dream of Red Mansions

The famous classical work A Dream of Red Mansions is rich in cultural images,which requires translators to have profound cultural consciousness in translating.This paper comparatively analyzes the translators' different approaches in translating the cultural images.Yang Xianyi adopted foreignization in order to keep the original cultural images in his version,while David Hawkes adopted domestication for his readers,but did not fully pass the original cultural images in his version.
