希望的呐喊者——析哈代式悲观主义

Pursuer of the Hope

This paper mainly argues the pessimism in Hardy's lyric poetry.The keynote in Hardy's poetry is one of pessimism,but the self-contradiction in his philosophical thinking prevents him from being an absolute pessimist.In fact,on the one hand,Hardy seems to be exploring the harsh reality and yearns for the good old days,but on the other hand,he also believes in social evolution and cherishes hope for the future.This explains why sometimes one senses the optimistic touches in his poetry.
