Historic Evolution and Specialized Inspiration of Social Work Practice Standard for Palliative Care of the United States

American Social work practice standard for palliative care is not only the product of history but also is the product of politics and culture. This paper studies the historic evolution process of American social work practice standard for palliative care, and meanwhile, based on three perspectives of practice standard such as the necessary ethics, value and specialized knowledge for implementing social work, direct service and indirect service of social work and specialized development of social work itself, quests several inspirations on the making of Chinese social work standard for palliative care.
