| Abstract: | The American public journalism movement has a complicated background.It was an interpretation of the Deweyan public spirit in the trend of communitarian thoughts and deliberative democracy.In the United States,new media are booming.Newspapers,however,are declining,and PBS and NPR are in dilemma.With the worry of their future and the worry of political cynicism,small local newspapers,PBS and NPR started public journalism movement as an attempt to reconnect with audience them and to recreate "the public". |
