中国高等教育的文化二维思路

摘    要:中国历史上重人文、轻理工的传统和中国高等教育的"外生性"特征,使科技与人文二维冲突尤为激烈,从"道""艺"之争到"中学""西学"的对抗,直至现阶段培养"工具人"与"精神成人"的争鸣。通过构建中国高等教育文化二维思路模型证明:科技主义与人文主义之争是贯穿于中国高等教育历程的文化二维思路。高等教育中的人文与科技思路没有固定的、一劳永逸的路径,应在不断变化的时空背景下彼此不断消长,在相互磨合中找到最适的着力点。

Abstract:Chinese scholastic tradition of‘emphasizing humanities' while‘dispising science and engineering'and the exogeneity of Chinese higher education resulted in the two-dimensional conflict of sci-tech and humanities-from the early controversy between‘Tao'and‘Yi'(craftmanship)to the confrontation of‘Chinese Learning'and‘Western Learning',and up to the present argument over cultivating‘utility person'or‘spiritual adult'.The paper puts forward a two-dimensional cultural model for Chinese higher education,showing that the dispute between scientism and humanities has ever been existing.There is no fixed and oncefor-all settlement of the issue and each is required to adapt to the ever changing situation and to fit each other.
