The View of Valuing Naturalness for Opera Language in Tenghuating Quhua

In the opera creation,naturalness is regarded as an important aesthetic pursuit.The Tenghuating Quhua written by the opera theorist Liang Tingnan in Qing Dynasty advocates the concept of creation of valuing naturalness on opera language.In Liang’s opinion,the naturalness on language manifests as three aspects namely the reality of emotion from the bottom of heart,the appropriateness of the grave words applied to the opera and the harmony between words and rhythm, which are both the main content of Liang’s language view of naturalness and the creation of methods he put forward to benefit the naturalness of language.
