| Abstract: | The paper reviews studies aimed at revealing the developmental seqence in the acquisition of different sentemce types in the 1970s.The studies were in attempt to explore the acquisition sequence of negatives and interrogatives .Thereafter, three hypothesis established in the 1970s on the acquisition of relative clauses were also disscussed .This paper concludes with both implications and criticism of the studies on language acquisition order /sequence in the 1970s as well as further research in this field. |
