A Unified Approach to the Approximation of Multivariate Densities

Approximation of a density by another density is considered in the case of different dimensionalities of the distributions. The results have been derived by inverting expansions of characteristic functions with the help of matrix techniques. The approximations obtained are all functions of cumulant differences and derivatives of the approximating density. The multivariate Edgeworth expansion follows from the results as a special case. Furthermore, the density functions of the trace and eigenvalues of the sample covariance matrix are approximated by the multivariate normal density and a numerical example is given

首先总结e化供应链的特征,分析了e化供应链与传统供应链的区别,然后对e化供应链管理的实施模式进行了总结、分析和对比,在此基础上提出了基于Web Service的e化供应链的一体化解决方案,最后对基于该方案的e化供应链的实施过程进行了论述。     

推进我国跨境电商与制造业集群协同发展的几点思考

在“互联网+”和“一带一路”背景下,跨境电商与制造业集群不仅要成就自身发展,更要实现协同发展。通过对产业集群及升级、跨境电商和协同演化等现有理论研究进行梳理总结,深度剖析我国跨境电商和制造业集群发展现状,论证两者协同发展的必要性,并有针对性地提出推进我国跨境电商与制造业集群协同发展的对策建议:着力加大政府部门扶持保障能力;增强电商与制造业企业的创新能力;壮大港航物流支付主体支撑能力。     

4-6岁幼儿电子游戏卷入度与得分关系研究

为了解4-6岁幼儿电子游戏卷入度与游戏得分的关系,对随机选取的20名4-6岁的幼儿在选用的电子游戏中的行为表现及游戏得分进行了观察研究。结果发现: （1）电子游戏卷入度的正性维度得分（M=37.750）高于负性维度得分（M=23.600）;（2）游戏得分从高到低的项目为：保卫萝卜（M=3.200）>水果消消乐（M=2.400）>俄罗斯方块（M=1.400）;（3）电子游戏卷入度负性因子与游戏得分的交互作用明显,F(6,14)=14.368,P<0.005。结论：（1）益智电子游戏可以较好促进4-6岁幼儿产生喜悦、注意、鼓励、努力等积极情绪;（2）游戏规则和操作越简单,越容易成功的益智游戏,更容易吸引4-6岁幼儿;（3）场景多变性、任务挑战难度越大的益智游戏,具有双刃剑的效应,虽然可以引起4-6岁幼儿参与游戏的兴趣,但是也容易给他们带来消极的情感体验。     

Asymptotic approximations to the distribution of Kendall's sample τ

This paper provides a saddlepoint approximation to the distribution of the sample version of Kendall's τ, which is a measure of association between two samples. The saddlepoint approximation is compared with the Edgeworth and the normal approximations, and with the bootstrap resampling distribution. A numerical study shows that with small sample sizes the saddlepoint approximation outperforms both the normal and the Edgeworth approximations. This paper gives also an analytical comparison between approximated and exact cumulants of the sample Kendall's τ when the two samples are independent.     

Backward capacity-filtering for electronics Fabs

In electronics Fabs such as semiconductor Fabs and liquid crystal display (LCD) Fabs, which are capital-intensive, finite-capacity planning is critical to achieving full-capacity production and on-time production. However, existing finite-capacity planning methods do not adequately reflect the actual capacity profiles of an electronics Fab. In this paper, we propose a new Fab-level capacity-filtering procedure to generate finite-capacity plan: a backward capacity-filtering procedure for generating finite-capacity release plan. When developing the Fab-level filtering procedures, we use stage-level capacity-filtering algorithms as a key building block. In this study, we enhance the previous capacity-filtering algorithms proposed by one of the authors in order to facilitate the practical requirements of electronics Fabs. We apply the proposed capacity-filtering method to a modern LCD–TFT Fab in Korea. Performance analyses demonstrate that the proposed method is superior to existing methods.     

No Mind Reading Necessary: Conducting Evidence-Based Electronic Resource Marketing and Outreach Using Marketing Research Assessment

Abstract

In her presentation entitled “No Mind Reading Necessary: Conducting Evidence-Based Electronic Resource Marketing and Outreach” at the North Carolina Serials Conference April 2019, Kate Hill discussed marketing research strategies and outreach tools used to increase online users’ access to electronic resources and primary resources. In an effort to connect users to seldom-used resources, Jackson Library collaborated with university partners to develop surveys to identify the information-seeking behavior of its users and apply the gathered marketing research to strategically plan outreach activities.     

发达国家对华输出电子废弃物的环境影响与对策

近年来,发达国家电子废弃物的流入给发展中国家的环境和民众健康带来了严重的危害。我国在阻止电子废弃物流入的相关法律规制与监管上存在漏洞,且经济发展战略不合理,发展水平相对落后。法律和经济方面的双重落差导致发达国家电子废弃物流入屡禁不止,迫切需要采取有效措施加以应对。分析国外电子废弃物涌入我国之现状与原因,并从法律制度建设、经济发展思路、经济发展战略、国内管理和国际合作5方面提出应对策略。     

A general approximation to quantiles

For many continuous distributions, a closed-form expression for their quantiles does not exist. Numerical approximations for their quantiles are developed on a distribution-by-distribution basis. This work develops a general approximation for quantiles using the Taylor expansion. Our method only requires that the distribution has a continuous probability density function and its derivatives can be derived to a certain order (usually 3 or 4). We demonstrate our unified approach by approximating the quantiles of the normal, exponential, and chi-square distributions. The approximation works well for these distributions.
