‘Rachel's not here’: Constructed dialogue in gossip

Sociolinguistic research has demonstrated that gossip is a co‐constructed phenomenon, which allows participants to establish solidarity and build alignments with each other, while evaluating an absent party. Gossip can also serve important social functions, such as helping to establish and reconfirm group norms and values. The present study provides a detailed analysis of an extended gossip episode that occurred within an institutional context: a study group interaction at a U.S. university. Our analysis shows how, in gossip, constructed dialogue both prompts and legitimizes pejorative evaluations towards an absent third party, and is actually the pivot around which group members negotiate values and norms in the process of arriving at a shared moral stance. Our analysis also demonstrates that alignment in gossip interactions is tenuous and must be continuously renewed.     

后现代主义对教育评价研究的启示

后现代主义是 2 0世纪末西方社会流行的一种哲学和文化思潮 ,其影响遍及各个领域。强调反思和批判精神、反中心和提升非理性、倡导多元化的方法论和提倡对以及淡化价值判断是其显著特征。自 2 0世纪 90年代以来 ,许多教育学者开始借助后现代主义的有关思想来审视教育 ,笔者通过对后现代主义有关思想的观照 ,展开由后现代主义引发的对当前教育评价研究有关问题的思考。     

比较文学:历史探求与现实思考

比较文学自诞生以来经历了三次危机。对于中西比较文学来说,危机既是挑战也是机遇。就目前中国比较文学的研究现状而言,要紧的还是脚踏实地,多做研究。要对国际学术界共同关心的问题形成自己的独到见解,提出并解决已有的理论话语未曾涉及的理论命题,真正做到理论创新,从而争取国际文化对话中的话语权。     

道德与道德教育

通过对道德含义的剖析 ,指出道德属于关系范畴 ,并从道德起源的角度阐明道德产生的一般条件 ,进而指出我国当前道德教育存在的一些问题 ,得出道德教育应选择的途径。     

老子的独语与对话

老子是先秦重要的思想人物,他表面上用《老子道德》的独语体来表述一位孤独者的心语,但实际上这本书蕴涵着潜在的对话精神。老子的人文智慧主要通过对话的方式来与世界交流,与人民沟通,与孔子的教喻有所不同,分属中国古代思想不同的言说与表述方式,从思想对话的角度去理解老子,是很有意义的。     

全球化语境中的对话文化学的建立

文化是永远朝向自我认同而存在的人的现实生活。由全球化凸现出来的文化冲突反映了人面对异质性存在而产生的自我认同危机。中国传统文化与西方文化的差异不仅表现在内容上,而且表现在它们在当今人类文化格局中所处地位的不同上,即西方文化处于权力话语地位,而中国传统文化却岌岌可危。文化对话不仅是人类共建一种异中求“和”的世界文化新格局的正确途径,而且是中国文化健康发展的正确途径。在当代,建立对话的文化学已刻不容缓。建立对话的文化学不仅是一种普遍的对话范式在文化理论中的确立,而且要求我们在文化实践和社会实践中展开对权力话语的批判。     

巴赫金狂欢理论对学前教育的启示

巴赫金从中世纪民间狂欢节入手抽象出具有对话性、双重性和超越性的“狂欢式”生活的特征,并进一步在文学分析中提 炼出“狂欢化”的概念。根据他的狂欢理论,游戏的儿童具有狂欢的品格,儿童游戏精神的缺失导源于人类狂欢精神的陨落。 狂欢理论对学前教育的启示：对话性的亲昵应当是师幼关系的应然状态;狂欢的超越性为理解儿童的“反常”行为提供了新视 角;狂欢主体的沉浸式参与启发了教师主体精神的回血路径;“狂欢式”生活的“生活游戏化”本质有助于我们理解“课程游戏 化”和“游戏课程化”两者的包容和统一关系。     

A vision of social justice in intergroup dialogue

Intergroup dialogues (IGD) – face-to-face, structured interactions between people of different social identities – is one educational intervention used to foster engagement across differences and to promote social justice. Using an 18-month case study methodology, we examined the experiences of IGD students and facilitators at one campus to gain a deeper understanding of what happens in IGD, specifically how social justice is understood and cultivated. Findings suggest that the primacy and limitations of individual experience, the tension facilitators experience about stepping in to dialogue, and the confounding nature of comfort in IGD contribute to a dialogue experience that better addresses some aspects of social justice than others.
